Join our team as an RN Practitioner or Physician Assistant. In the role you will:
- Assume responsibility and accountability for rapid assessment, nursing diagnosis and works with MD partners to assure safe patient diagnostic testing and optimal plan of care.
- Perform advanced practice procedures.
- Utilize the nursing process to promote/restore optimal health and well-being of the patient.
- Assume personal accountability for organizational mission and core values.
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the APP Regional Director (DAPP), site Medical Director (SMD), and as a peer leader, serve to oversee and improve care delivery at the facility by performing the following duties:
Implementation of Guidelines
- Provides leadership and direction in accordance with organizational goals and objectives.
- Assists with the implementation of all initiatives to support the goals and overall objectives of the APP team.
- Engages in monthly team meetings and multidisciplinary meetings.
- Attends APP team meetings on a monthly basis.
Identify & Escalate Facility Issues
- Engages in ongoing collaboration with the SMD and DAPP.
Ongoing Training & Development of the APP Team
- Improves and maintains effective team communication and cohesiveness.
- Participates in the professional growth of self and team APPs.
- Coaches and counsels the APP core team.
- Acts as a resource for current protocols.
- Arranges annual skills labs.
- Supports APP team Quality Improvement (QI) projects.
- Reviews chart audits for bi-annual OPPE/FPPE evaluations.
- Performs team evaluations twice a year (spring/fall) for OPPE & FPPE.
Maintain Relationships with All Partners (Internal & External)
- Sustains trust and transparency in communication between APP/NEO/OPS.
- Builds and maintains relationships, and checks in regularly, with the NICU Nursing Director and Managers at the hospital.
- Organizes and participates in education for affiliated Level 1 Facilities in your region.
Participate in Recruitment When Applicable
- Assists with the interview and selection process in collaboration with the Medical Director and Recruiter to ensure proper recruitment and retention of qualified APP candidates.
- Assists in the facilitation and confirmation of the core APP schedule (refer to scheduling guidelines for specifics).
- Assists with the facilitation of orientation for new core staff in collaboration with the Practice Coordinator.
Shift - This position will utilize 24 HR shifts. This is the standard for NICU APP shifts. 0.5 shift requirement is 39 per year.
Job RequirementsIn addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
- 1 year of experience in a clinical or advance practice setting, preferred
- Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
- Master's Degree in Nursing as Nurse Practitioner, from a nationally accredited postgraduate certificate program required. Must be a graduate from an Accredited School of Nursing.
- Graduate from an Accredited School Of Nursing required
- Registered Nurse Practitioner Licensure for; and listed on the state Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) Registry required. Board certified as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, in applicable population foci and/or sub-specialty.
- RN License required
- BLS from the American Heart Association may be required depending on practice setting
- ACLS from the American Heart Association may be required depending on practice setting
- Have Prescriptive Authority (RXN) or have Provisional Prescriptive Authority (RXN-P), if applicable for role with associated articulated plan.
Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
