Clinical Manager for Transplant Services – NP or PA – Phoenix Children’s
The Clinical Manager for Transplant Services is an Advanced Practice Provider who promotes family-centered care by subscribing to and supporting Phoenix Children’s mission and values.
This position evaluates, manages, and supervises operational functions and activities of the transplant programs at Phoenix Children’s by guiding and supporting staff. He/she also serves as a liaison with other departments to plan, implement, communicate, evaluate, and coordinate patient care operations across the enterprise, facilitating quick resolution of issues to ensure excellence in a family centered care environment.
He/she provides oversight and day-to-day management of all clinical staff in the transplant programs, including the PAs and NPs within the transplant programs. Additionally, the Clinical Manager for Transplant provides care to a caseload of patients within his/her scope of practice as outlined by applicable state law, regulations, institutional policies, and practice agreements.
He/she functions as an independent healthcare provider who, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team including transplant surgeons and physicians, is responsible for providing comprehensive care to pediatric transplant patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
The Clinical Manager for Transplant Services provides care and educates patients and their families in transplant related care. He/she develops criteria for and participates in the evaluation of the quality and effectiveness of care. He/she plans and participates in learning opportunities for advanced practice, nursing, medical students, other healthcare professionals and community members as it relates to the care of the transplant patient. He/she works with administrative, nursing, physician, and ancillary staff to assure quality patient care and to promote education and research.

Certifications
- Current BLS certification for Health care Provider from the American Heart Association
- National Board Certification to match area of education
- Current State of Arizona certification as a Nurse Practitioner or PA or obtained by start date
Education
- Master’s or Doctorate degree from an Accreditation Commission for Nursing (ACEN) and/or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited graduate school or nursing in Pediatric Acute Care, Pediatric Primary Care or Family Medicine OR Master’s degree from nationally accredited ARC-PA program.
Experience
- Five (5) or more years of relevant clinical experience with pediatric and/or transplant patients
- Three years of experience in leadership and/or supervisory capacity
- Effective team building skills and related systems experience
Special Skills
- Analytical and statistical skills necessary to develop and monitor operating and personnel budgets
- Demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving abilities in order to resolve complex clinical, systems and personnel problems and issues which affect the unit and inpatient departments
- Must be able to assume 2 hour accountability for program coverage
- Excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal communication, and basic computer skills
