Harborview Medical Center has outstanding opportunities for RESPIRATORY CARE PRACTITIONERS to join our Respiratory Care Team! (All shifts, FTE, temporary or permanent)This individual will provide advanced Respiratory Care to patients of all ages, (e.g., newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric). Care is provided under general supervision in all areas of Harborview Medical Center, intensive care units, acute care clinics and the emergency room. Under general direction, the RESPIRATORY CARE PRACTITIONER utilizes the respiratory care process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation) to recommend, delegate, coordinate and proved safe, therapeutic respiratory care to patients; makes independent judgments/decisions and takes action regarding a wide range of routine and complex patient issues; and collaborates with appropriate disciplines to coordinate continuity of patient care from admission through discharge in support of the respiratory, medical and nursing plans of care. In addition, the person in this position serves as role model and provides guidance to other staff including review and evaluation of performance. REQUIREMENTS:Completion of a Respiratory Care Program approved by the State of Washington, Dept of Health or equivalent education/experience. Legal Requirement: Licensed by the State of Washington as a Certified Respiratory Care Practitioner and must be RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist
